Happy Holidays & New Year! 

My favorite holiday film is It’s a Wonderful Life. As some of you may know, my song Seneca Falls was inspired by this classic movie. The town of Seneca Falls, NY claims that when Frank Capra visited in 1945, he was inspired to model Bedford Falls after it. I can vouch for its similarities. In February of 2007, I took a little trip up there; stayed in a lovely B&B, crossed a bridge reminiscent of where George Bailey (Jimmy Stewart) took his critical jump and was inspired to write a song.

Seneca Falls will be released on my upcoming record and features Adam Christgau on drums, Evan Silverman on upright bass and Alexa Woodward on banjo. I can’t wait to share it with you!

This Tuesday I will be playing The Crown Point Festival at the Eli Klein Gallery in SOHO. The CPF is a three week festival of the best emerging and pioneering artists in film, theater and music from around the world in the Lower East Side of New York City. Every performance is tailor-made to transport the audience on a unique & unforgettable  experience. Tuesday evening will bring together independent films by Bob Giovanelli and Gabriel Judet-Weinshel, one-act plays by Jeff Auer and Gabriel McKinley and a musical performance at 9pm by Annie Crane. For more info, go to: Annie at the CPF

That’s right folks, I’ve lost my voice. Not once, but twice in two weeks. Word to the wise: if your day-job is to give tours 3 days a week at a museum, be sure to baby your voice box (!) and when school groups come through, let the teacher do the yelling… not you. But, thanks to the wonderful folks atGaluminumFoil Productions, this will not hinder my record. The vocal tracks will be done only when my voice says its ok!

Two out of three rehearsals, done …And it’s sounding incredible! It’s amazing how a song can come to life. I have some truly amazing folks joining me for this. Here are some snap shots for your viewing pleasure. My kitchen has never been cozier;)

Things have been pretty busy lately! Between playing shows in the beautiful state of Vermont and getting situated at a new day job at my favorite NYC museum The Tenement Museum, I am swamped with prepping & planning for my upcoming full-length album. I will be recording this November with a full band: Maya Roney on violin, Lisa Baker on piano, Evan Silverman on upright bass, Adam Christgau on drums and a couple of other surprise guests. I couldn’t be more excited…and nervous! Thanks to all of you who have supported me and my music along the way. You’ve inspired me to make this album & hopefully it will make your ears happy. Stay tuned for the escapades of an independent recording artist.

Kentucky is beautiful! I just returned from playing 6 shows in 4 days with Peaks & Valleys in KY and OH. We had a great time and played Morehead State University’s “Americana Cross Roads”, a real deal Southern live radio show! I’ll post the podcast for you soon.

In a few weeks I’ll be playing the Fortified Summer Antifolk Festival held at the Sidewalk Cafe in Manhattan, 94 Avenue A at East 6th Street. The Antifolk Fest runs from August 9 to August 17 and  showcases a variety of the Antifolk scene’s most talented musicians.
